Actions: What You Can Do With the City
SUN published the book accompanying the exhibition in Montreal’s CCA (Canadian Centre for Architecture).
The book is about 97 different ‘actions’: some sort of moderation/alteration in the cities landscape and it’s inhabitants.
For example: guerilla gardening, rooftop sliding, dumpster dining. All giving rise to a different perspective.
We decided it would be funky to make an ‘action’ ourselves and integrate it in the book.. making the book itself a product of an ‘action’.
We took perspective literally and placed cardboard shapes in such mattar that viewed from one angle only it shows letter characters, forming the book’s title. It was a way of ‘denying’ perspective and became Action #98.
The shapes are printed 1:10 on the dust cover; the image of the angle-view is on the cover of the book itself.
