‘A Soothing Song’ is a publication we made for Monica Blok and Hadas Itzkovitch, accompanying the video-sound installation they made which then showed at Imagine IC.
The films and images in the book have been set and staged, inspired on the light and colours in classical paintings from Dutch masters, like Nicolaes Maes and Pieter de Hoogh.
On the cover, the book’s title is applied in an embossment, underlying the printed text.
